A novel amine combination has been assessed as a bactericide replacement, it is free from formaldehyde and formaldehyde releasers and also they are free of sensitising ingredients. It utilises OPP combined with this amine and coupling additives.
With a treat-rate of 3% in the concentrate the amine can be formulated into water-mix metal working fluid concentrates with reasonable ease. We can advise on the best emulsifiers to use if interested.
The performance as a bio-stat is as good as a formaldehyde release biocides in that the bacteria levels are controlled, the results are adequate and in house test data indicates good field results will be expected.
The results we have obtained indicate good bio-stability with the level of bacteria typically held at 103 or less. This control of bacteria levels would be considered acceptable and field performance should be excellent.
