OPM and OPM+ are biocides which are free from formaldehyde and formaldehyde releasers and also they are free of sensitising ingredients. They are based on OPP combined with an amine and coupling additives.

With a treat-rate of 3% in the concentrate the biocides can be formulated into water-mix metal working fluid concentrates with reasonable ease.

The performance as a biocide is not as good as a formaldehyde release biocide in that the bacteria levels are not zero, however the results are still adequate and data from the supplier indicates good field results.

The results we have obtained indicate good bio-stability with the level of bacteria typically held at 104 or less. This control of bacteria levels would be considered acceptable.
